Battlefield 6 Bot Lobbies: How to Play Solo or with Friends

If you’re looking to practice weapons, test tactics, or simply unwind without real players ruining your flow, Battlefield 6 gives you several ways to play solo or in co-op sessions against AI bots. Although the game doesn’t have a classic “Offline vs AI” mode, you can still experience full matches with bots through Battlefield Portal or specific training modes.

Battlefield 6 uses AI soldiers to fill empty slots in multiplayer servers. These bots behave like real players—they capture objectives, use vehicles, and even revive teammates—but they’re tuned to be less aggressive than humans.

You can face them in two main ways:

  • Public matches with bot backfill, where AI fills missing player spots.
  • Custom Portal servers, where you can make a full bot lobby for solo or co-op play.

The second option is where most players go when they want a relaxed, player-free experience.

Creating a Solo Bot Lobby in Battlefield Portal

The Battlefield Portal system lets you host or create fully customized experiences. Here’s how to make one focused entirely on bots:

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Go to the Portal Website
Visit portal.battlefield.com and log in with your linked EA account (same one used on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).
  2. Start a New Custom Experience
Under “My Experiences,” click Start Editing. Choose the Portal Custom option for full control.
  3. Configure Teams and Bots
    • Open the Teams tab.
    • Set Bot Spawn Type to Static.
    • For Team 2 (the enemies), set Human Players = 0 and Bot Count to half of your chosen mode’s per-team limit (for example, 16 bots for a 32-player mode).
    • For Team 1 (your side), set Human Players = 1 if you want to play alone or add a few slots if you want co-op with friends.
    • Adjust difficulty and AI behavior as you prefer.
  4. Publish and Wait for Approval
Once configured, click Publish. Your server will be queued for moderation by DICE before appearing in the browser—usually within a few hours.
  5. Join Your Server
After approval, launch Battlefield 6, go to the Server Browser, and search for the exact name or keywords you used in the server description. Join once it appears.

Quick Tips

  • Give your server a unique name (like “Solo Bot Farm XP Base 2025”) so it’s easy to find later.
  • Look for servers tagged Full XP if you want normal progression. Avoid Modified XP tags, since those limit or disable rewards.
  • If you encounter the Global Game Quota Exceeded error while hosting, it means too many lobbies are active—wait a few minutes and retry.

Joining Public Bot-Backfill Servers

If you don’t want to build your own Portal experience, you can still enjoy bot-filled matches by joining empty public servers that have AI backfill enabled.
Simply:

  1. Open the Server Browser.
  2. Filter for modes like Conquest or Breakthrough with bot backfill.
  3. Join an empty server—the AI will automatically fill remaining slots.

Keep in mind that another human player might join at any time, replacing one of the bots, but it’s a fast way to jump into bot combat with minimal setup.

Training Grounds in Battlefield 6

New players can access a limited co-op mode called Breakthrough Initiation found under Training Grounds on the main menu.

  • Matches here cap at 16 players (8 humans + 8 AI per team).
  • Full XP and weapon progression are active.
  • The mode disappears from your menu after reaching roughly Rank 10–15, as the game assumes you’re ready for live matches.

Best Practices for XP and Challenge Farming

  • Always confirm your chosen server shows Full XP Progression before starting.
  • AI opponents offer easier kills, but challenge progress can still count on verified servers.
  • Balance difficulty for efficiency—too-easy AI can make matches drag, while high-skill bots can stall your grind.
  • Popular bot lobby codes like XFCP (by ParadiseCentrl) have become known for consistent XP farming setups—search for similar codes in the Portal browser.

Bot servers are occasionally capped or moderated to prevent abuse. If you notice that you can’t publish new Portal sessions or that certain lobbies disappear, it’s likely a temporary moderation limit from DICE. In that case, fallback options like public backfill servers still work reliably.  Play Now!
