Cloudheim is finally stepping out of the demo phase and into Early Access, and players who’ve been tracking its development can now prepare to jump in as soon as the servers go live. The indie “actioncraft” adventure has gained a lot of attention during Steam Fests, and the full Early Access rollout is much closer than you might think.

Cloudheim Early Access Release Date
Cloudheim enters Early Access on December 4, launching first on PC via Steam and Epic Games. Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will follow later when version 1.0 arrives, but there is no confirmed console date yet.
December 4, 2025
There is no pre-purchase or early unlock system. Everyone starts at the same time once the build goes live.
Can You Play Cloudheim Before Release?
Yes — Cloudheim already has a free demo on Steam and Epic Games. It includes:
- The full tutorial
- Acts I & II of the campaign
- Online co-op
- Multiple classes and replay value
However, progress from the demo does not transfer to Early Access.
If you want to get familiar with the combat, crafting flow, and class playstyles before December 4, the demo is the best way to jump in early.
What Type of Game Is Cloudheim?
Cloudheim blends action combat, visual crafting, and co-op progression in a world recovering from the aftermath of Ragnarok. It isn’t fully open world — instead, you launch expeditions from your flying base and explore handcrafted islands filled with enemies, puzzles, and loot.

Odin Shell: Your Flying Base
Your hub is Odin Shell, a massive turtle carrying ancient power. It functions as your workshop, social area, and gateway to every expedition. On Odin Shell, you can:
- Craft weapons and abilities
- Recruit creature helpers like Blins
- Run your sky-store and complete customer requests
- Unlock new upgrades for your mobile base
This is where your long-term progression lives.
Combat: Chain Abilities and Break the Environment
Cloudheim’s combat encourages team combos and environmental interaction. You can:
- Tear pillars down onto enemies
- Pull monsters into whirlwinds
- Shoot Greebles out of cannons
- Kick explosive barrels
- Create custom weapons with crafted abilities
The world itself is breakable, and co-op teams can chain abilities for high-damage setups.
Classes and Customization
Cloudheim features four core playstyles:
- Runeblade – fast weapon combos and magic
- Sentinel – defensive control and area denial
- Breaker – heavy hits and crowd clearing
- Ranger – ranged damage and mobility
There’s no deep character creator, but you can freely switch among Runari appearances and cosmetic skins anytime.
Every ability you unlock works across your collection, letting you mix and match for unique builds.
Cloudheim Co-op and Cross-Play
You can play solo or join up to three friends in online co-op. All weapons and abilities you unlock are shared across your group, making progression smoother when playing together.
- Steam and Epic Games players can play together
- Broader cross-platform options are being explored
- Offline play is not supported during Early Access
Should You Play at Launch?
If you enjoy co-op action games, crafting systems, and dynamic combat, Cloudheim’s Early Access is shaping up to be a strong opening. The demo already gives a good taste of the pacing and structure, and the full version adds more islands, enemies, and loot to chase.
