2) Jal Shakti Ministry reviewed the progress of implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Mizoram through video conferencing

  • Mizoram State officials presented the status of planning and implementation before the National Jal Jeevan Mission
  • As part of National Jal Jeevan Mission, Mizoram state planning for 100% tap eater connection to all rural households b 2022-23
  • In 2020-21, Central government allotted ₹79.30 Crore and Mizoram state planning to enable 31,963 households with tap water connections. Total state as round 1.27 lakh rural household, out 1.02 lakh households don’t have proper household tap connections

3) Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) (DoNER), MoS PMO inaugurated Mansar Lake Development Plan in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to generating employment of about 1.15 crore man-days and annual income annual more than Rs 800 crore

  • Union Minister said as estimated outlay Rs 200 crores to be used for 2 rejuvenation and renovation projects for River Devika and Mansar Lake respectively, these were in Udhampur District, Jammu
  • River Devika is known to be the sister of Mother Ganga

4) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated VAIBHAV Summit 02nd October 2020 in Gujarat is concluded successfully

  • VAIBHAV, Vaishwik Bharatiya Vaigyanik is a global virtual summit of overseas and resident Indian researchers and Academicians, about 2600 overseas Indians registered for month-long series of webinars, participated by 3200 panellists and 22,500 academicians and scientists from India and overseas
  • VAIBHAV Summit objective to “create an ideal research ecosystem, merging tradition with modernity to create prosperity”

5) Kerala’s highest literary honour, 28th Ezhuthachan Puraskaram awarded to Writer Paul Zacharia, he received awarded for his contributions to Malayalam literature

  • Previously Zacharia received awards like Vallathol Award, Fellowship of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award

6) Sona Polo won Indian Masters 14-goal polo tournament by defeating Jindal Panther with 12-10 in the finals

7) Lewis Hamilton won Emilia Romagna Grand Prix 2020, its 93 win race for Hamilton.
