As Pokémon TCG Pocket approaches its first anniversary, leaks and official updates have begun to overlap—painting a clear picture of what’s next for the hit mobile card battler. Between the Mega Rising expansion leak and the new Share system teased for its upcoming update, the game is poised for one of its biggest overhauls since launch.

A recent leak from a reliable Pokémon insider, CentroLeaks, revealed that the next Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion is titled “Mega Rising.” According to the leaked images, the set will feature three themed booster packs showcasing Mega Blaziken, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Altaria on their covers.
If true, this marks the first time an expansion will be split across three separate pack lines since the game’s debut. It also aligns neatly with earlier confirmations from the 2025 Pokémon World Championships, where developers teased that Mega Evolution cards would finally make their way into the mobile title.
The timing adds up—Deluxe Pack EX, the previous limited-time release, is set to expire at the end of October 2025, just as Mega Rising is expected to go live. That drop-off makes it the perfect hand-off between Year One’s content cycle and the start of Year Two.
Beyond the new cards, Pokémon TCG Pocket is finally improving its notoriously restrictive trading system. Up until now, only low-rarity cards could be exchanged, with trades capped at the 1-Star level. The coming update changes that by allowing trades of 2-Star and 1–2 Shiny Star cards, including those from current sets.
Even bigger news is the introduction of a Share feature, which lets players send one card per day—up to 4-Diamond rarity—to friends directly through the in-game Social Hub. It’s a one-way “gift” system rather than a trade, meaning the sender gives up the card permanently. While limited, it adds a social dimension that’s been missing from Pocket since launch.
Players will have 29 days to claim any gifted cards, and while you can’t spam high-value trades yet, this mechanic at least makes sharing extras and helping new players easier.
Wonder Pick Boosts and Flair Tweaks
Two other long-requested tweaks are also rolling out:
- Wonder Pick Enhancements – The algorithm will now prioritize cards missing from your collection, increasing the odds of completing your Pokédex without endless duplicates. Each card will also display how many copies you already own.
- Flair Simplification – Applying visual “Flairs” to cards will no longer consume Shinedust, a resource now tied to trading. Instead, Flairs will unlock automatically once players hit certain milestones.
Together, these refinements should make collection building feel smoother and less grind-heavy—a welcome change after a year of player complaints about slow progress.

Between Mega Rising and the new Share system, it’s clear that the developers are preparing for Pokémon TCG Pocket’s second year with a more community-driven focus. The inclusion of Mega Evolution mechanics not only deepens gameplay variety but also ties the mobile title more closely to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which prominently features the same concept.
Still, many fans remain cautious. The limited pace of trading and strict one-card-per-day rule have raised concerns about whether Pocket truly intends to embrace open player interaction—or just keep things carefully monetized within its own ecosystem.
