Where to Find Sturdy Quartzite in Grounded 2: All Locations & Farming Tips

Sturdy Quartzite is one of the most important late-game resources in Grounded 2, but it’s not something you’ll need much of in the early hours. Unlike brittle quartzite, which is common and tied to basic upgrades, sturdy quartzite is locked behind specific locations and tougher obstacles. Collecting it will prepare you for higher-tier crafting and weapon enhancement in future updates, so knowing exactly where to find it can save you a lot of time.

At the moment, sturdy quartzite can’t be used for endgame upgrades in early access, but it’s worth stockpiling. Each sturdy node also rewards brittle quartzite as a bonus, giving you a useful two-for-one resource. To mine it, you’ll need the tier-two Omni-Tool hammer (crafted with lingonberry leather and a ladybug head). You should also carry bratburst bombs to clear cracked walls and use your buggy in tunnels blocked by roots.

All Sturdy Quartzite Locations in Grounded 2

1. Snack Bar Front

One of the first sturdy quartzite spawns can be found at the front of the Snack Bar.

  • Look for the three circular wooden structures.
  • Position yourself south of the middle circle and find the ditch running through the area.
  • A sturdy quartzite shard can be spotted at the top of this ditch. Search the nearby ground carefully, as there’s usually another one close by.

Don’t forget to check the northern Snackbar region as well, where additional underground nodes spawn behind cracked walls or roots.

2. Western Underground Cave System

Head west from the Snack Bar area until you reach a green landmark that marks the entrance to a tunnel network. Inside:

  • At the first fork, go left.
  • At the second branching path, take the left again.
  • You’ll eventually arrive at the Bone Chamber, a distinctive room filled with skeletal remains.
  • Search behind the large bone structures on the right-hand side to find sturdy quartzite nodes. Some extra shards may also be hidden in this chamber.

Since this cave is part of a larger underground system, expect root barriers that your buggy can clear and cracked walls that need bratbursts.

3. Fire Pit Cave (East of Soda Can)

In the Fire Pit region, head into the cave located east of the soda can.

  • A sturdy quartzite node can be found near the entrance without needing bombs.
  • Deeper inside, cracked walls block access, so bratburst bombs are required.
  • A roach patrols this cave, but it will not attack if you leave it alone, making this one of the safer farming spots.

4. Grass Games Cave

Another location is west of the steps leading to the Statue in the Grass Games area.

  • This tunnel is tricky since quartzite sometimes fails to spawn due to glitches.
  • Make sure you bring bombs, as the entrances may be blocked.
  • Because of its inconsistent spawns, treat this as a backup farming spot rather than a primary source.

5. Ceremony Region

The Ceremony region hides multiple sturdy quartzite spawns:

  • Inside the cave east of the podium.
  • Near the giant rock in the center, just north of the terrarium where a wolf spider roams.

These nodes are often located near the entrances, so you can quickly grab them without bombs if you stick to the outer paths.

6. Toxic Antill (South Entrance)

From the picnic table region, head to the south entrance of the toxic antill:

  1. Enter the path and climb upward.
  2. At the split, take a left and drop down where the cans are.
  3. Crawl under a can, jump up, and after finding two brittle quartzites, drop down behind the spine to uncover a sturdy quartzite.
  4. Look behind the spray can nearby for another sturdy quartzite.
  5. In the same area, you’ll also find brittle quartzite and a sturdy marble node (the source text mixes up the names here, but both marble and quartzite appear together).
  6. Keep exploring further rooms by jumping gaps and walking over ledges to reveal even more quartzite deposits.

This antill route is one of the most efficient farms since it contains multiple sturdy nodes in one run, and it resets every few in-game days.

Tips for Farming Sturdy Quartzite in Grounded 2

  • Bring Bratburst Bombs: Most underground caves block progress with cracked walls that only bombs can destroy.
  • Upgrade Your Hammer: Without the tier-two Omni-Tool hammer, sturdy quartzite nodes cannot be mined.
  • Use Your Buggy: In deeper caves, roots often block paths; your buggy can push through them.
  • Plan Combat: Many caves are guarded by hostile bugs like scorpions, larva, or the Masked Stranger’s soldiers. Equip a strong weapon before venturing in.
  • Respawn Cycle: Sturdy quartzite replenishes after a few days, so mark these locations and revisit them regularly to stockpile.

Sturdy quartzite might not have immediate use in Grounded 2’s early access, but it’s crucial for future weapon upgrades once brittle whetstone limits are reached. From the Snack Bar ditch to the Bone Chamber caves and the toxic antill tunnels, every shard you collect gets you closer to late-game readiness. Bring bombs, upgrade your hammer, prepare for bug encounters, and use your buggy wisely — because sturdy quartzite farming is as much about survival as it is about mining. Play Now!
