Mission Type: Main Quest #17
Quest Giver: Lilith
Starting Point: Kairos → Carcadia Burn → Tonnage Peel
Required Completion: Main Quest 16 – Another Day, Another Universe

The Falling Wall begins just after you rescue Lilith. Callis’s shattered space-elevator segment has torn a hole through Dominion City’s outer defenses—your chance to infiltrate the Timekeeper’s domain. This mission establishes your first foothold inside Dominion and leads directly into Means of Ascent.

Step 1 – Check on Lilith

Start at Moxxi’s Bottoms Up in Carcadia Burn. Lilith is sitting on the couch—talk to her to trigger a short cutscene that sets up the push toward Dominion.

Step 2 – Investigate the City Wall

Fast-travel to Makeshift Chalet Safehouse in southern Carcadia Burn, then head southeast toward the glowing wreckage from Callis’s moon chunk.

  • Enter the Lopside sub-region and move into Siltgrasp Canyon. You’ll recognize the correct route by the purple Eridium-crystal terrain.
  • Grapple up to the metal platforms leading into the crashed ship.
  • Inside, activate the red console on the center terminal to unlock the sealed door and open the passage to Dominion City.
  • Follow the narrow, linear path through debris. Use the updraft pipe to gain height and the nearby grapple points to continue climbing.
  • Keep ascending through the wall until you reach a ledge with a visible hole on the left—drop through it to enter a cavern lined with Eridium crystals.

Reaching the cavern automatically unlocks the Final Defiance Fast Travel Station, confirming you’ve breached Dominion’s outer perimeter.

Tip: Standing too close to the purple gas vents drains your shields steadily, so stay mobile while platforming.

Step 3 – Go to the Safehouse

After Levaine contacts you by ECHO, exit the cave and follow the main street through the ruined Carcadia District. The zone swarms with Order forces—Watchmen, Witnesses, Engines, and occasional Badass variants—but you can sprint past them if you prefer.

  • Pass through a large shipping container acting as a corridor.
  • Upon exiting, turn left toward the illuminated courtyard: this is The Lockaway, Levaine’s old penthouse and your next objective.
  • Grapple up the ledges on the right to reach its elevated entrance.

Step 4 – Capture The Lockaway Safehouse

Once inside The Lockaway, a few standard Order enemies will spawn—clear them out to secure the area.

  1. Face the wall displaying the glowing Timekeeper mural and use the grapple point above it.
  2. Climb the stairs and grapple again to reach the upper operations floor.
  3. Grab the datapad from the table lit by a single candle.
  4. Interact with the command console opposite the table to activate the safehouse.

Completing these steps converts The Lockaway into a permanent Fast Travel and respawn location inside Dominion City.

Step 5 – Talk to Zadra

After activating the console, speak with Zadra near the window overlooking Dominion. The conversation ends the mission and unlocks the next main quest, Means of Ascent.
