Indian Potash Limited signed an agreement with Israel Chemicals Limited for the supply of Muriate of Potash (MOP) Updates

Supply of Muriate of Potash Updates: Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, the Indian Potash Limited (IPL), under the Department of Fertilizers of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, signed an agreement with Israel Chemicals Limited (ICL) for the supply of Muriate of Potash (MOP) for the period 2022 to 2027 with an annual quantity of 6 to 6.5 LMT.

Union Minister Dr Mansukh Madaviya said on the occasion that “India and Israel have a long-standing economic, defence, and strategic relationship built on mutual trust and cooperation.” There is tremendous potential in the agriculture industry in India, and there are numerous prospects for collaboration and innovation.

“India and Israel should collaborate in the field of Fertilizer Research so that the farming community benefits from their efforts.” He requested Israeli collaboration in enhancing fertiliser use and the use of alternative environmentally friendly fertilisers.

The Union Minister Madaviya extended his congratulation on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and stated that it is an essential step toward improving the availability of Muriate of Potash (MOP) in India. This will help to increase agricultural productivity in the country, which will in turn improve the lives of those who work in the farming sector.

M/s. Israel Chemicals Limited (ICL) is also collaborating with Indian Potash Limited (IPL) on a project titledPotash for Life,” which is aimed at increasing fertiliser use efficiency with the goal of increasing farmer income, he continued.

In a statement, Elad Aharonson, Global President of M/s. Israel Chemicals Limited expressed his company’s pleasure at its association with India through Indian Potash Limited and said M/s. Israel Chemicals Limited is eager to be associated with the efforts being made in India, as well as its willingness to develop a deep association in the area of downstream fertilisers, including improved technologies, logistics, and application in the field of downstream fertilisers.

Israeli delegation invited Union Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya to visit Israel to witness the country’s technological advancements in the agriculture and fertiliser sectors despite their land and water limits.

Indian Government is committed to increasing agricultural production and farmers’ income through the judicious use of fertilisers.
